NO SKATING ON THANKSGIVING OR HALLOWE'EN

There is no skating on Thanksgiving or Hallowe'en.

We will not skate Monday 10th October or Monday 31st October 2022.

WELCOME TO THE SKATING SEASON!

Dear Skaters & Parents/Guardians,

OUR SEASON IS BEGINNING ONE WEEK LATER THAN PREVIOUSLY ADVISED.

The Executive Board welcomes everyone to the Norwood & District Skating Club 2022/23 Season!

The skating season now begins on Monday, September 19th, if you are registered for Wednesday nights only, we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September 21st. (Not September 12th and 14th as previously advised)

There is construction at the Community Centre and the main entrance is currently closed. To enter the Community Centre please go to the LEFT of the entrance (when facing the main entrance), and there is a side door that enters between the dressing rooms. This was the door used to exit last year, the exterior signage on the door still says ‘exit only’ but it is being used as an entrance.

Here are a few reminders - 

• We are a Scent Free environment
• As per our helmet policy, all skaters up to CanSkate Stage 6 must wear a helmet
• All skaters must wear mittens or gloves
• Please have skaters dress warmly and in comfortable clothing that allows for movement
• All CanSkate skaters will pick up their name badges at the Welcome Table. The Welcome Table will be near the new entrance doors.
• Name badges are to be returned after each session to the Welcome Table

StarSkate (Rising Star & Elite) Information

The StarSkate program works a little bit differently than the CanSkate program. The StarSkate registration fee includes one Group lesson per session and additional private lessons are to be arranged directly with the Coaches.

• All Rising Star and Elite Skaters skate from 4:00pm to 5:50pm on your registered session (Mondays and/or Wednesdays)
• Group lessons are at 4:00pm
• Private lessons are $12 for 15 minutes, semi-private lessons will be charged at a slightly lower rate (depends on participants in the lesson)
• Payment for private or semi-private lessons is handled directly between skaters/parents and coaches
• To arrange Monday night lessons, please contact MaryBeth Hale at marybeth.m.hale@gmail.com
• To arrange Wednesday night lessons, please contact Leeanne Decker at leeannedecker@hotmail.com
• The Coaches must have confirmation of lessons from a Parent/Guardian before they can provide lessons to skaters.
